This page is intended to help you select what we feel are the best products from the following stores to house, feed, and water a pet rabbit using an indoor house/garage/shed/barn setup.
We visited Petsmart, Coastal Farm, and Wilco on 2/16/15, to look at and price their products. Note there are several other feed stores and pet stores that may have the same or similar products, we didn't have time to visit them all!
Petsmart: The following items purchased together at Petsmart would total $109.95 and you would have everything you need.

Petsmart: The following items purchased together at Petsmart would total $109.95 and you would have everything you need.
$7.99 for 10 lbs. Recycled newspaper pellets, you can compost these, they're fragrance free, dust free, absorbs order very well, prevents urine from splashing out of pan during urination, little to no bedding odor. Best for indoor-house setups. Place below wire floor, don't let the bunny eat these, although harmless to eat, they may fill up the bunny with no nutrients.
$7.49 for 5 lbs. We have not used this feed before, but after reviewing the ingredients this is the best rabbit feed Petsmart sells. It should work well. If you decide to use this feed we recommend (but not required) also feeding your bunny a handful of timothy, orchard grass, or grass hay at every feeding. Please see the care instructions link for more advice on feed.
$2.79 each. These are stoneware (heavy so they don't turn over and spill easily) 5 oz bowls (in bunny lingo these are called "crocks") Excellent crock for feeding pellets for Holland Lops unless your bunny digs at his food or likes to throw his dish around, if that's the situation, see the care links for advice.
$ 7.69 each. We have not used this water bottle before - BE CAREFUL - with water bottles, and please see our care instructions for water bottle advice. However, this is the best water bottle Petsmart sells for Holland Lops. It's 32 oz and has a large ball/valve necessary for a bunny to get water quickly and easily. It should work just fine, please read advice before buying water bottles.
Coastal Farm: The following items purchased together would total $122.47 and you would have everything you need. (note that the cage comes with a good feeder so you don't need to purchase a feed bowl)
$99.00 each. 24" x 24" x 16" Assembly required but comes with the tool and clips that are easy to use. Also comes with a good feeder, removable bedding tray, and a water bottle. DO NOT USE THE WATER BOTTLE THAT COMES WITH THIS CAGE. They were recalled recently because they slowly leak and they don't dispense water. However, this is a great cage! This is our favorite cage for pet Holland Lops. (Wilco sells this cage for $84.99 so Wilco is $15.00 less)
$7.99 for 5 lbs. We have not used this feed before, but we have to say we're impressed with the ingredients. This is a low protein feed so it would be good if you intend to let your bunny eat free choice (see our care instructions for feeding options). KAYTEE also makes a Timothy Hay feed with no Alfalfa in it, we don't recommend a feed without alfalfa in it. The bag pictured is what we recommend.
$7.49 each. 32oz Lixit Deluxe water bottle clouded plastic NOT CLEAR. This is the water bottle we use when we are at shows, or for our cages that aren't on our automatic watering system. We highly recommend this water bottle. This bottle supplies water at an appropriate rate for rabbits and we have not had one leak yet. Note that we have tried lots of different water bottles and this is the best so far.
$7.99 each. Recycled newspaper pellets. You can compost these. No fragrance, no dust. Absorbs odor very well, and prevents urine from splashing during urination. Place this below the wire floor in the pan. Don't let your bunny eat this. Although it's harmless to eat, it may fill the bunny up with no nutrients. Highly recommended bedding for indoor house rabbits. The bedding itself has little to no odor.
Wilco: The following items purchased together would total $108.98 and you would have everything you need (if you're ok with a clear plastic water bottle and fir shavings.)
-The cage comes with a good feeder so you won't need to buy a feed bowl.
-Note that Wilco does not sell a water bottle that we recommend. They have a 32 oz lixit clear plastic bottle that functions well (cost is $9.99), but may result in algae growth if your cage is near a window.
-We did not see a litter/bedding material at Wilco that we've tried for indoor house use. However, that doesn't mean they don't have one, we just haven't tried them. Wilco's Fir Shavings (they come in a white plastic sealed compressed shavings package) do work well for garage/shed/barn bedding. We use them for our show carrier cages and like them a lot. But we don't recommend shavings for the house due to the dust and smell. Although fir smells nice, you may not want your house to smell like a barn. Also it spills everywhere when you're digging it out of the bag.

$8.99 for 7 lbs. This is a popular feed that lots of people use. We recommend this feed if you're going to feed once or twice a day and not free choice. It has all the ingredients we like for our bunnies and it's the least expensive of the pre-packaged, small quantity feeds we recommend. (Coastal Farm sells this feed for $6.49 for 7 lbs)
Our favorite recommended set up, if we were setting up a pet bunny that was going to live indoors (house, garage, shed, barn) it would cost a total of $104.42 for everything we need and we would:
Go to Wilco and buy this cage for $84.99, and throw away the water bottle that comes with it!
